Some problems are easier to solve from a conference room.
A long presentation can contain impressive analysis, elegant frameworks and hundreds of recommendations. What it cannot automatically contain is experience of the place being discussed.
Government schools are complex spaces. Teachers, children, parents, officials and communities experience them differently. A solution designed without spending time there can easily miss what matters.
Expertise has value. So does humility. Before telling people how to fix a system, perhaps spend enough time inside that system to understand why it works the way it does.
