Fresh Perspective Required
Ten years of experience can suddenly become less valuable than being new.
Organisations often ask for fresh perspectives. That can be healthy. New people bring different experiences, questions and ways of seeing familiar problems.
But the language can also become a way of undervaluing experience. Someone with a decade of work may be treated as less exciting simply because they have been around for a while.
The strongest teams usually need both. Fresh thinking can challenge old habits, while experience can help distinguish a genuinely new idea from something the sector tried five years ago. Fresh should not mean inexperienced, and experienced should not mean stuck.
